I am so glad you are interested in getting better sleep for your family!  I am excited to work alongside you and your family with a goal of sleeping through the night.

I graduated in 2012 with my bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 2012, majoring in Social Work and minoring in Sociology.  I initially worked as a case manager with pregnant women and their children, providing education and resources around developmental milestones, goal setting, trauma, emotional regulation, behavioral responses, and the overall positive functioning of a family unit.  During this time, I developed a passion for educating prenatal parents, and began to head a series of classes on labor and delivery, as well as after care of newborns at Sinai Hospital.  I fell in love with the therapeutic relationships I was creating with my clients, moms from all backgrounds, and decided my goal was to continue with my education.

I gave birth to my first child in 2015, and oh what an amazing blessing he was.  He became my test subject for all I knew about child development, and shortly after he was born, I realized how important sleep was to our family.

In 2017, I found out we were pregnant for the second time and was ecstatic.  Unfortunately, following that news we were informed that the baby was no longer viable and that we were going through a miscarriage.  This was devastating but pushed us to count our blessings with our now 1 year old baby boy.

Later that year, I gave birth to our spunky, independent, and sassy middle child.  I zoned in on sleep from the day I found out I was pregnant.  I knew the sacrifices we made with the first child, and I had it in my mind that I would plan and plan and plan some more to create healthy sleep habits in her life.  It worked, and it was great.  That little girl was on a consistent schedule and sleeping through the night at 4 months old.

Sleep became such a vital part of my family’s life, which continued to fuel my interest and passion for the ins and outs of creating successful sleep patterns for everyone around me. I have always loved helping others and I was good at it.

I graduated from the University of New England in 2019 with my master’s degree in social work with an emphasis in clinical therapy.  I began my work as a therapist in marriage counseling, play therapy, co-parenting, working with adolescents, counseling through divorce, etc.  You name it, I was doing it and I was loving it.  I started to realize in therapy sessions how much impact a consistent schedule and sleep pattern had on the overall functioning of my clients.  This was yet another thing to fuel my passion for sleep, and my research on the importance of sleep.

Also in 2019, we found out we were pregnant with our third and final baby to complete our family of 5.  Before my first doctor’s appointment, I began to experience some pretty extensive pain and knew from my past history that I was again miscarrying.  My husband picked me up off the bathroom floor, took me to the doctor where an ultrasound was to be done.  We saw the start of an amazing baby being formed, and the heartbeat to go along with it, the sense of relief was indescribable.  We then panned over to the second sac where the heartbeat had failed, and we were informed that we were pregnant with twins and miscarrying one.  It was such a bittersweet feeling, from blessings of a healthy child to morning of the loss of another.

Later in the year, we gave birth to that 8.5lb baby girl who was sleeping through the night at 9 weeks old, giving me that final push to start up my business in sleep consulting.

Everyone has their own stories, and the things that have happened to make us who we are today.  I firmly believe that all the ups and downs of my adult life has perfectly positioned me to be your sleep expert.  I have been through the pregnancy, infant, toddler, and school aged stages.  I have the background in child development and therapy.  I am here to create positive change in your family’s life with an empathetic approach and a warm mother’s hand to guide you along the way.
