Intensive Couples Therapy
This approach is appropriate when one or both want the relationship to end and believes that it cannot be healed.
This is a "make it or break it" model to identify how the relationship got to this place, options on how to move forward, and a mutual agreement on what path will be taken.

Session 1
Couples Context Setting
2 hour session
Both partners present
In-person is preferred

Joint session to communicate the underlying concerns

Ample opportunity for each person to voice concerns with their partner present
Session 2 & 3
Individual Sessions
2 hours (1 hour per person)
In-person is preferred

Each partner has a 1 hour session to privately express their concerns

The couple can attend together in back-to-back sessions or separately
Session 4
Direction Forward
2 hour session
Both partners present
In-person is preferred

Joint session to discuss ways to strengthen the relationship or plan for separation

Create plan for ongoing support for all parties, including children if applicable
